SOLICELLO — A slice of authentic Tuscany
Nestled in the Tuscan countryside, just a few minutes from the medieval historic center of Colle di Val d'Elsa, the Solicello apartment is a modern space with a vintage soul—fully equipped—that perfectly captures the character of this place.
The apartment is located on the first floor of a two-unit building. Downstairs is another apartment for 4 people (Rosmarino), which can be rented at the same time for larger groups.
Access is through a small garden gate, shared with the apartment below (Rosmarino), with which it also shares the entrance and the pool. The rest of the spaces are private, unless you’re a large group and wish to rent both apartments. To reach the entrance, you’ll climb two short flights of stairs, leading to a spacious terrace that overlooks the surrounding countryside and is furnished with a table and chairs for al fresco dining.
The entrance to Solicello opens onto the fully equipped kitchen, painted a cheerful bright yellow—hence the name. The kitchen is an open-concept space connected to the living room, where you’ll find a large table and a sofa.
On the right is the entrance to the sleeping area, where you’ll find the bathroom with a shower on the left and, on the right, the first bedroom with two single beds that can be pushed together to form a double bed. The room has a bookshelf and a chest of drawers for storing clothes. At the end of the hallway is the master bedroom, with a bed and a closet.
The house is set in a rural setting. From the terrace, you can enjoy a rewarding view of the countryside and even a charming flock of sheep belonging to the neighbors, who are professional sheep farmers. The house is equipped with Wi-Fi and a beautiful pool set within a vast garden. The pool is shared with the other apartment on the lower floor and with the owners, a friendly Dutch couple who occasionally come to enjoy country life. For larger groups, it’s possible to rent both apartments (Rosmarino on the ground floor and Solicello on the upper floor, accommodating up to 8 guests).
Not far from the apartment, the Elsa River winds through the landscape, with a pleasant walking path along its banks. The center of Colle di Val d’Elsa, known for its medieval alleys, crystal-making tradition, and charming historic center, is easily accessible on foot or by car. Siena, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, and Certaldo are all about a 20-minute drive away. Florence, Lucca, Pisa, and Livorno are about an hour’s drive away.
